In order to have the most effective cooperation with foreign
investors within the limits of preparation for EURO 2012 a proper legal
framework is being created in Ukraine. It was declared by Football
Federation of Ukraine (FFU) President Grigoriy Surkis on a meeting with
the representatives of Spanish business structures. Having hearing the
speeches of city speakers, which will hold the matches of continental
championship, guest from Pyrenees became interested by the possibility
of capital investments in development of the Ukrainian infrastructure,
which will last during the followings five years.
The representatives of leading firms and companies of Spain visited
the House of Football hall of meetings. Tourist industry was presented
by such whales of market as AQA, La Pedrera and Marina D’Or. Kyiv
summit was not forgotten by building corporations of Katry, Deyco and
Hoque, investment groups of Area 10 and RAMBLA, company Isolux,
woodworking Maduck and firm ATESA which provides complex motor-car
services.
As a leader of FFU EURO 2012 Executive management Ivan Fedorenko
marked, “an extraordinarily wide field for investments from abroad is
created in our country”. Basic directions for collaboration are:
alteration of highway networks, connections of railways and city
transport systems, hotel economy, tourist objects, reconstruction of
air-ports, railway stations, updating of existing and building of new
sport buildings. “Also we consider a telecommunication industry to be
extraordinarily perspective and important. According to government
settlements, up to 2011 year Ukraine will have own satellite of
communication which will enable bringing in of additional investments”,
– Fedorenko summed up.
Potential of business mutual relations of Ukraine and Spain
outstandingly interested the representatives of accepting cities.
Kharkiv mayor Mykhailo Dobkin marked the special attractiveness of
investments in the market of the real estate. ”Almost 70% of city
housing and unhousing fund is out-of-date, and it is a wonderful field
for capital investments – especially in the center of Kharkiv. A number
of interesting projects is now developed, for example, an alteration of
Metalist-City center and reconstruction of city air-port. First object
- unique, innovative after conception, will occupy 42 hectares: round a
stadium Metalist hotels, sport gyms, cafes, specialized shops will be
built”.
Mykhailo Dobkin also reported that the project of reconstruction of
air-port has been already developed and the beginning of proper works
is planned in the nearest future. And Kharkiv regional Administration
head deputy, the first FFU vice-president Sergiy Storozhenko marked
that a “city also suggested to be attached to the investments in
building no less than 50 crossings between Ukraine and Russia, about 15
new hotels and two trainings objects”.
The head of Donetsk sport committee Serhiy Kozlov first of all drew
the attention of potential business-partners to investing in a complex
reconstruction of airport, upgrading of railway infrastructure and
building circuit roads around the city. Grand prospects for foreign
business are revealed with building new subway stations.
Dnipropetrovsk is in dire need of investing in hotel network
building. Such projects exist already, mainly they will be located
around new Dnipro stadium. City head Ivan Kulichenko announced this.
“Modernization of blocks of buildings adjacent to this arena has
already started, nearby the building of 40-storey business-center,
20-storey hotel, sport-entertaining center, underground parking is
planned, - he noted. – We aspire for attracting investments for
reconstruction of the airport, central railway, auto terminal,
river-boat station and two suburban terminals. We also plan to build
aqua-park, sport-sanitary center and entertaining park”.
The director of the EURO 2012 Department of Lviv city council Oleh
Zasadniy noted that the major part of expenditures meant for
preparation to continental competition will be directed to building the
transport corridors. “Furthermore, we plan to build three customs
passages between Ukraine and Poland, 70-km railway track of European
format, and provide a complex reconstruction of the airport that will
increase its capacity to one million passengers annually, – he added.-
Foreign investors can undoubtedly be interested in creating a network
of motels and camping-sites around the city, building of new and
reconstruction of the existing hotels, rebuilding of transport system,
building of a new hospital near the new stadium, reconstruction of 20
sport objects”.
The chief of Department of investments and securities of Odessa city
council Hennadiy Nechayevskiy pointed on a significant finance
attraction of Odessa which is considered next to a leading resort area
of Ukraine. “Taking into consideration the annual increase of tourists
– up to 25%, the city experiences a rapid development of hotel
infrastructure. Within the 4-5-year term we plan to open 40 hotels –
the new and reconstructed ones, - he assured. – Upgrading of the
airport is underway; we plan to provide a full reconstruction of the
port. In order to realize these projects, we are ready to cooperate
with foreign investors”.
In the end Grigoriy Surkis assured Spanish guests that Football
Federation of Ukraine will lobby the interests of potential investors
as much as possible but within the current legislative base. Ukraine
has got a proper legislative base for the most efficient cooperation
within the framework of EURO 2012. All negotiation processes, all
tenders will be lucid, and the investors can rely on our assistance in
any possible way.
